About BlueSkySaver

BlueSkySaver started with a simple frustration: we kept finding amazing videos and artwork on Bluesky, but there was no easy way to save them. The platform is fantastic for discovery and community, but downloading content shouldn't require third-party apps, browser extensions, or complicated workarounds.

So we built BlueSkySaver in late 2025 as a weekend project. The goal was simple: make it stupid easy to download Bluesky content. Copy the URL, paste it, click download. That's it.

What started as a tool for ourselves quickly gained traction. Friends shared it, then their friends, and suddenly thousands of people were using BlueSkySaver every day. We realized we'd tapped into something people genuinely needed.

Today, BlueSkySaver processes tens of thousands of downloads every month. We've grown from a simple video downloader to a full-featured tool supporting images, carousels, threads, and more. But our core mission hasn't changed: make Bluesky content accessible without the hassle.

We get this question a lot. The answer is simple: we believe essential tools should be free.

Downloading a video shouldn't cost money. It shouldn't require a subscription. It shouldn't be locked behind premium tiers. BlueSkySaver exists because we think everyone deserves easy access to public content.

We keep costs low by using efficient technology (Next.js, edge computing, serverless architecture). We don't store data, so we don't need expensive databases. We don't have employees, just passionate contributors. And we're okay with that.
